At Risk Populations
People who, because of their economic, environmental or family situation or a health problem or disability, are considered more likely than others to be affected by or become involved in self-destructive behaviour, criminal activity, abuse, substance abuse, chronic unemployment, homelessness, unwanted pregnancy and other problems which threaten their health, safety and/or personal development.
Bereaved/Grieving Individuals
Individuals who have experienced a loss, such as the death of a loved one or pet, divorce or separation, estrangement from a family member or any other kind of significant loss whose own patterns of personal, social and familial coping have been significantly affected as a result.
Breastfeeding Women
Women who have needs and interests in common because they are nursing an infant or are pregnant and intend to breastfeed once they give birth.
Ex-Offenders
Individuals who are no longer under required supervision by the criminal justice system.
Families of Military Personnel/Veterans
The parents, children or spouses of people who are on active duty with one of the branches of the armed forces, who have retired from the armed forces following a military career, or who have been honourably discharged as veterans of military service.
Families/Friends of Abused Women/Men
The parents, children, spouses, partners, friends or other relatives or significant others of people who have been involved in domestic violence or abuse, whose own patterns of personal, social and familial coping have been significantly affected by ongoing interaction with and concern about living in a violent and/or abusive environment.

Families/Friends of Compulsive Gamblers
The parents, children, spouses, partners, friends or other relatives or significant others of people who are unable to control their impulse to gamble, whose own patterns of personal, social and familial coping have been significantly affected by concern about the individual and the consequences of gambling on their own lives.
Families/Friends of Frail/Dependent Elderly
The children, spouses, partners, friends or other relatives or significant others of people who are unable to care for themselves due to general frailty; illnesses, injuries or progressively debilitating conditions such as Alzheimer's disease or mental illness; or other incapacitating problems, whose own patterns of personal, social and familial coping have been significantly affected by interaction with and concern about the elderly individual.
Families/Friends of Individuals With an Alcohol Use Disorder
The parents, children, spouses, partners, friends or other relatives or significant others of people who have an alcohol use disorder, whose own patterns of personal, social and familial coping have been negatively affected by ongoing interaction with and concern about the individual.
Families/Friends of Individuals With a Drug Use Disorder
The parents, children, spouses, partners, friends or other relatives or significant others of people who have a drug use disorder, whose own patterns of personal, social and familial coping have been negatively affected by ongoing interaction with and concern about the individual.
Families/Friends of Inmates/Ex-Offenders
The parents, children, spouses, partners, friends or other relatives or significant others of people who have been charged with a crime and are awaiting trial, who have been convicted of a crime and sentenced to confinement in a correctional facility, or who have served their sentence and have been recently released from a correctional facility.
Families/Friends of Intersex Individuals
The parents, siblings, friends or other relatives of individuals who were born with any of several variations in sex characteristics including chromosomes, gonads, sex hormones or genitals that do not fit the typical definitions for "male" or "female" bodies.
Families/Friends of Missing Persons
The parents, children, spouses, partners, friends or other relatives of individuals whose whereabouts are unknown, whose own patterns of personal, social and familial coping have been significantly affected by concern for the missing person.
Families/Friends of Murder Victims
The parents, children, spouses, partners, friends or other relatives or significant others of victims of criminal homicide, whose own patterns of personal, social and familial coping have been significantly affected by the tragedy and the ongoing impact on their lives.
Families/Friends of People with Disabilities
The parents, children, spouses, partners, friends or other relatives or significant others of people who have physical, sensory, developmental, cognitive, mental or emotional limitations, whose own patterns of personal, social and familial coping have been significantly affected by ongoing interaction with and concern about the individual with a disability.
Families/Friends of People with Eating Disorders
The parents, children, spouses, partners, friends or other relatives of people who have a compulsive obsession with food, whose own patterns of personal, social and familial coping have been significantly affected by ongoing interaction with and concern about the individual. Included are families of people who have anorexia, bulimia, a compulsive overeating problem and other similar disorders.
Families/Friends of People With Health Conditions
The parents, children, spouses, partners, friends or other relatives or significant others of people with acute or chronic illnesses, injuries or other pathological conditions which affect the individual's physical well-being, whose own patterns of personal, social and familial coping have been significantly affected by ongoing interaction with and concern about the individual. Health conditions may be temporary or permanent, may be present at birth or occur at any point in a person's lifetime, and can be of different levels of severity.
Individuals/Families Affected by Divorce
Individuals who have divorced (or separated), are in the process of divorcing or have family members (parents, siblings or other relatives) who are divorcing, have divorced or have separated, and whose own patterns of personal, social and familial coping have been significantly affected by the change.
People With Disabilities
Individuals who have physical, sensory, developmental, cognitive, mental or emotional limitations, illnesses or injuries that affect their ability to engage in one or more major life activities. Disabilities and health conditions may be temporary or permanent, may be present at birth or occur at any point in a person's lifetime, and can be of different levels of severity.

Socially Isolated Adults
Adults who have a low level of contact and interaction with family, friends, neighbours, the broader community and other sources of social support. Social isolation may be due to a number of factors including age, loss of a spouse, living alone, death of family members or friends, retirement, disabilities, poor health, transportation issues, place of residence, low self-esteem or poverty.
